Progress #1

So, this is the first progress report. I'll try to put one of these up about once a week and everytime something important happens, summing up recent progress and what people are working on.

• The infamous Bug #5 that prevented Markus from sucessfully evolving his alife agents is gone now, so we hope to see his moving and eating alife-agents soon. (Maybe we can create a real alife simulation with many agents in early 2004. Not unlikely that we even can put it on the internet and allow people to have a look with the 3dviewer.)
• david has a version of his 3dviewer in CVS that keeps in sync with the world and updates as the world changes - this was one of the key requirements for version 0.5. We'll see if he and matthias manage to visualize agent movements in a smooth way before Christmas.
• There is development which shall bring categorisation into the simpleagent. However, it does not look as if things are going to have settled down before the next group meeting (monday 15.). I don't know how much progress matthias has made on the world side, but I'm almost sure that I won't have a multi-level-HyPercept module ready in the close future. It's not that it could not be done, but if we want to have a simpleagent with 0.5 that is somewhat stable, we can't replace the perception system now.
