3DView2 Troubleshooting FAQ

Q: The graphics is completely messed up...

A: Make sure you have the latest graphics driver installed. I know this sounds like a silly answer, but in real life most problems can be solved that way. Note that the latest drivers are usually only available from the card manufacturers themselves (see >>http://www.ati.com and >>http://www.nvidia.com). Drivers from the Microsoft Windows Update system are usually a good deal older than those from the manufacturers. And do not insist on 'certified' drivers - uncertified ones do not do any harm and always a good deal faster.

Q: I don't use Windows. Is there a Linux / MacOS / whatever version?

A: Sorry, no. The simple reason: 3DView2 uses Microsoft DirectX and heavily depends on its cool features (like .x-Files, .fx-Files and the HLSL compiler). Porting 3DView2 to OpenGL ist not trivial. (If you want to do it, however, you are more than welcome!)
