FAQ
Is there JavaDoc information?
There is, indeed. You will find JavaDoc information for the core components at
http://www.cognitive-agents.org/javadoc/Where is the source code?
If you want to have a look at the source code of the core components, install the toolkit (see
installation). Then open your Eclipse directory, go to plugins/org.micropsi.runtime.../lib/components. There are a lot of component jars there, but also a ZIP file containing the source code of the interesting parts.
We do not currently distribute the source code of our non-core eclipse plugins, becaus it is a bit messy, not well documented and not of any interest to the AI community anyhow. Still, it's GPLed, so you can get and use it by just dropping us a line.
Concerning this Webdoc: What about languages?
You can use English or German, both in Bugzilla, the WebDoc system and the mailing list. Although there are no international members of the team at the moment, we expect and hope to have them one day. And nobody's gonna translate all the documentation then, we all know that. So, if possible, use English.
But: Don't let language issues intervene with your writing desires. The key factor is
content, not quality or type of language.
I need feature X in component Y! What to do?
For feature requests, please also use our
bugzilla.
Those bugs really bug me. Should I dare to use bugzilla?
You should! That's why it's there. Better report one non-bug in bugzilla than a hundred real bugs by mail! (Not really, but you get the idea, don't you?)
Can you advise on platforms?
The toolkit runs very well on Windows XP, 2000 and Linux.
OS X is also supported, but has problems. Drawing isn't very fast and the Drag'n'Drop in the node net editor is no fun.
